Outside of work, I spend a great deal of my free time on two of my life’s passions: gardening and animals.

My yard is the envy of my neighborhood. I have installed all of my own landscape and it has become quite the “labor of love.” It’s also a great way to get exercise. I also enjoy plant swapping with my friends and tend to be drawn to the more exotic native plants. What can I say? I love getting my hands dirty and helping things grow.
As far as my love of animals is concerned, I share my house with my “fur kids.” I have five cats, three girls and two boys. I am proud to say that every one of them was a rescue.
The oldest, Jorgi, is from the Navy yard in Washington, D.C. When I worked for Poole and Kent in Baltimore, my co-workers o
n the jobsite called because there was this kitten crying under their trailer and they knew I was the one, and only one, they could count on to rescue this critter.
All the rest (Carli, Lilly, Raven and Jake) have found me. People joke that the word on the street among the homeless animals is I’m the cat’s meow! To most of my friends, I am known as the Crazy Cat Lady (Jake pictured above and Carli pictured below).

I am a big supporter of animal causes like Pet Pal Rescue, as well. In fact, I supported them during a recent fundraiser by purchasing a cruise package. Not only do I get to go on my first cruise ever, but I get to relax knowing that I am supporting animals. Bring on the Mojito’s!
